i'm Alys and this is my very own little website!

Every year i grow more and more frustrated with the "new" internet and how shit social media gets. I hate how impersonal, sanitized and censored everything became to appeal to the corporate overlords. I come from a time where Myspace, Skyblog and later Tumblr were the norm and your profile was always customized to really be yours. A time where capitalism hadn't yet ruined the internet.

A friend introduced me to neocities a few years back so i made an account but i kept putting it off because i had forgotten how to code. Then in april 2025 i stopped being lazy, (re)learned basic html+css and managed to put something decent together, something i'm happy with and can look at thinking "this represents who i am". Angelnet was born.

The inspiration for this website is everything i grew up with. From colorful flash games and cute fashion blogs to mysterious websites and rabbit holes from the 2000s. Angelnet's color scheme is heavily inspired by my pink bedroom which i practically live in and all my favorite motifs featured on the clothes and accessories i wear daily.

Angelnet is a passion project and a way to practice my skills as well as place for me to really express myself and share my archives and scans. I hope that you can have fun here in the same way i did when i was a kid browsing the free internet (minus the hardcore porn popups, that's something i REALLY don't regret lol)
